Situation 2, part 1 took place in Mandelkern project, Vienna and was hosted by Patrick Schabus. The presentation included a selection of new works, dealing with some aspects of the Socialist modernism and its forms in the architecture and design in Bulgaria.
The works varied from abstract paintings through ceramic fragments up to stencils and photographic images, putting the emphasis on the aesthetics of repetition of elements in the architecture and the design of patterns, reliefs and other forms of scluptural and decorative works.
Situation 2, part 1 is followed by a second part, in which new arrangement of visual material and art works, as well as theoretical texts are put together, emphasizing on the period of early 1990s, the so called ‘transition period’.
